The essentials
- Ohana keeps your family's data on your iPhone. We have no servers with your family's information.
- No ads, no third-party analytics, no selling of data.
- This policy covers the Ohana app and this website.
Who is responsible
Basilio Bravo Porto, based at Rambla Marina 40, 08907 L'Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona). You can write to us at ohana@basezero.dev. Ohana is a project of basezero.dev, an independent software development studio.
The app
What data it handles
What you note down: people and spaces, events, tasks, lists, expenses, budgets and the receipts or screenshots you import. Profiles of minors are created and managed by an adult.
Where it is stored
On your iPhone. Syncing with iCloud is not available yet. When it arrives and you turn it on, your data will travel to your own iCloud, under Apple's terms, and we will have no access to it.
What is processed on the iPhone itself
Reading receipts and bank screenshots, and the assistant's and category suggestions, happen on the device with Apple's tools. Images never leave your iPhone.
Permissions
All are optional and you can change them any time in the iPhone's Settings:
- iPhone calendars, to see them next to your family's. Only you see them.
- Notifications, for alerts and daily digests.
- Face ID, to protect access to the app.
- Maps, if you use place search or the "Time to leave" alert. Apple answers those queries.
- Share, Siri and Shortcuts, to send Ohana a receipt or note an expense. Ohana does not access your Apple Pay wallet or your bank.
Minors
Ohana does not collect data from minors: a responsible adult decides what is noted about them and must have their permission.
Deleting your data
In Settings › iCloud and data › Delete my Ohana data. If you uninstall the app, the data stored on the device is deleted.
The website
- Waitlist. We store your email to tell you when Ohana is ready. The basis is your consent. We keep it until we tell you about the launch or you ask us to delete it.
- Feature requests. We store the text you write and an anonymous browser identifier, which is also used to count your votes. We don't ask for your name or email. Ideas are published anonymously after review; if you want one removed, write to us.
- Hosting. The site is served with Firebase (Google), which may log technical data such as the IP address for security and operation.
- No tracking. We use no analytics or advertising. See the cookies page.
Who it is shared with
We don't sell your data. For the website we use Google (Firebase) as a provider, with the safeguards it offers, such as standard contractual clauses for transfers outside the EU. Apple handles what travels through iCloud and Maps under its own terms.
Your rights
You can ask us for access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability of your data, and withdraw your consent at any time, by writing to ohana@basezero.dev. If you think we haven't respected your rights, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
Changes
If we change this policy in a significant way, we will say so here and in the app. Last updated: 2026-10-20.
